Always Before Me 3/30/20

“I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16:8)

I have set the Lord always before me. The Lord Who is omnipresent. There is nowhere I can go where He isn’t. “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” The Lord Who is omniscient. He knows everything in the universe, and yet He knows my words, my actions, my very thoughts. The Lord Who is omnipotent. “Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.”  (Jer 32:17) Nothing can prevent what He wills.

I have set the Lord always before me. The omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent Lord who goes before me like a good shepherd, leading me, protecting me, loving me. He goes before me and I follow Him, for I know His voice.

I have set the Lord always before me. I listen for His word. His word is a “lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” His word “I have hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” His word is truth; His word is life.

I have set the Lord always before me. The Holy Spirit clothes me in the armor of God. He gives me the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, that I might stand in His strength. I am weak in myself, but I am strong in His might.

I have set the Lord always before me. Therefore, He is at my right hand. I have set my heart on Him, and He is near, not far off. He is near because His Spirit draws me to Him and leads me in His way. Because the Lord is always before me, I shall not be moved. Amen.
