Well, here we are at the tail end of July with more 100-degree days to look forward to in August and probably in September. In what seems the middle of summer, it's time to start planning our church year calendar for Sep 2022 through Aug 2023 at First Baptist Dodd City.
Kids will be getting back to school before too long, and we have several youth activities occurring in the next few weeks. And, although it's hard to think about Christmas right now, I still have to finish writing this year's Christmas play.
It looks as if we will have another year filled with various ministries and fellowships and with outreach opportunities in our community. And yet, we can't get so busy that we forget our purpose - to share the Gospel and love of Christ, to encourage and support one another, and to do all for the glory of God.
Remember, "Be still and know that I am God." Our strength, our purpose, and our rest are in Him. As we prepare to transition to a new church/school year, let us focus on the One we serve and never lose sight of Him.
