Worship 4/23/20

“Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” (Psalm 107:8-9)

Sometimes we need to set aside our fears, our anxieties, our needs, our wants, our selves, and just come into the Lord’s presence to praise Him and to thank Him. Sometimes we just need to behold Him in His holiness, His righteousness, His beauty, His love, and, forgetting about ourselves, worship Him for Who He is. Like Isaiah, we need to see Him high and lifted up. We need to hear the seraphim proclaim, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.”

In His presence, in His glory, our longing soul is satisfied. We were created to worship Him, and only as we worship Him is our soul truly complete, for our hungry soul He fills with good things, holy things, with living bread that nourishes our spirit.

We need to take time to meditate on Him, to be filled with awe and reverence.

Lord, You command us to love You with all our of heart, soul, and mind. Fill us with Yourself so that there is room for no other. Fill us with Yourself so that we know that it is You we seek, You we love, You who gives us meaning and purpose. Let us praise You, let us worship You, not for what You might give us or do for us, but just for who You are. To You alone do we give our praise and our worship. You alone we love with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. Amen.

Pastor Mike
